Our Team
We employ staff who are passionate and excited about working with children and we support our staff with ongoing training to enhance and develop their knowledge and skills and to facilitate their career and personal progression.
The majority of our team are qualified to NVQ level 3 in Children’s Learning and Development.
All our staff receive training in child protection (safeguarding), first aid, food hygiene, behaviour management and risk assessment. These qualifications are renewed on an ongoing basis.
We also deliver training in-house on our policies and procedures and aspects of children’s learning and development.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Richelle and the proud owner of Explorers Collier Row.
I was born in Salford and I have lived in Havering for almost twenty years. I have four children and one grandchild. As a parent I know how difficult it can be to choose the right setting for your child and the confidence you need in the practitioners when entrusting your child into their care.
I have a BA (Hons) in Citizenship and I have also studied Early Childhood Studies to Masters level. I have taught in Havering in a secondary school and I have also assessed Level 2 and 3 Early Years Practitioner, Social Care, Play Work and Teaching Assistant courses at both Havering College and Barking and Dagenham College. Thanks to my work experience I have had the opportunity to train and mentor early years practitioners in a varied range of settings throughout East London. This has been invaluable when recruiting well trained, confident practitioners for the Explorers team.
I am grateful for the opportunity to open a new setting in the heart of Collier Row and we aim to give a ‘home from home’ feel for the children. I hope as you visit the setting you get the sense that our Explorers team have an enthusiasm for the early years as we aim to set the foundations for good manners, cultural diversity, early learning and sociability.
